It is now recognised worldwide that new Quantum Technologies (QT), based on quantum rather than classical laws and underpinned by Quantum Information (QI) research, have real potential for commercial development and impact. QT have been recognised by EPSRC as a Grand Challenge and QI research has been identified as a UK strength, to be grown in the new EPSRC Portfolio
The meeting will cover the whole range of new quantum technologies, from existing technologies through to the long term grand challenges, linking theory to experiment and concepts to implementations.
Memory and networking technologies
Quantum metrology and sensing technologies
Quantum simulation and computing technologies.
Speakers leading breakthrough research in these technology sectors will be invited. To encourage and facilitate the participation of early-career researchers and PhD students, short contributed talks and a poster session form key aspects of this meeting. Further key features are a summary session to address the technology vision, and discussion of funding opportunities and the routes to further investment.
